This year, we are awarding six starter grants to faculty from 3 academic units. The unique quality of the grant is that the recipients will be mentored by the WAC Program’s faculty as they work on their projects. Depending on the scope of the project, the grants range from $300 to $500. Fall semester will be spent on the development of the deliverables, while in the spring, the awardees will pilot their new assignments and course designs in their courses and report on their results. Below is the list of the recipients and the title of their projects:

  • Marc Consalo, lecturer, Department of Legal Studies. Redesign of the Legal Writing Class for Blended (f2f and online) Delivery.
  • David Head, lecturer, Department of History. Design of an Op-ed Assignment for Inclusion into History General Education Courses.
  • Analexis Kennedy, instructor, College of Education and Human Performance. Writing to Learn Assignments for a Reading Methods Course.
